KUHN Farm Machinery is to exhibit at the Southern Counties Farming & Machinery Show on 15 November, displaying a range of machinery for users to increase application accuracy and work rates on both arable and livestock farms.
As a key supporter of the show, KUHN’s stand will feature an Axis 40.2 EMC fertiliser spreader; Metris 4102 trailed sprayer; and a Multi-Longer GII 7457 hedge cutter, along with the chance for visitors to talk with KUHN specialists about these and other machines in the product range.
The trailed Metris 4102 sprayer has a 4,100-litre capacity polyester tank along with 24m two-fold aluminium booms, and is designed for farmers and growers looking for a lightweight sprayer to limit compaction but possessing high work rates and technology options seen on larger machines.
The lightweight aluminium booms help to remove corrosion issues from chemical residues, therefore increasing the longevity of the machine. For increased application accuracy, the CCE electric continuous circulation manages nozzles individually. This means the operator is notified of blockages immediately and the electronically assisted nozzles will increase product accuracy with individual nozzle control when using GPS.
In the cab, visitors can see KUHN’s CCI A3 joystick which can provide up to 30 functions for sprayer operation, grouping all controls in one place for ease of use. The CCI A3 joystick can also be used with other Isobus implements, increasing the flexibility of the technology. For users requiring a screen to run the sprayer rather than using Isobus, KUHN’s CCI 800 and CC1 1200 are both compatible with the Metris 2 range.
Elsewhere on the KUHN stand will be the Multi Longer GII 7457 hedge cutter with its 1.5m cutting head, hydraulic roller, and parallelogram arm design, allowing adjustment of the complete arm in one joystick movement. This offers increased responsiveness when negotiating obstacles and means the arm is more manoeuvrable in tight spaces. There is also no ram on the underside of the hedge cutter arm, which offers greater clearance of hedges and obstacles when at full reach.
The 7457 has a horizontal reach of 7.2m and comes standard with KUHN’s STABI-LINK quick hitch axle mounted frame and brackets to ensure machine stability at full reach. The quick-fit frame takes just five minutes to attach and works as a shock absorber on the road, whilst correcting the tractor’s altitude to enable quick and safe position changes of the hedge cutter.
The Multi-Longer has electronic proportional control through the joystick and CCI 50 terminal, making setting changes easy to access. Operation through the joystick offers users precise control of the whole hedge cutting arm. The high level of standard equipment on the 7457 includes a 21KW air cooled radiator with double heat exchanger to prevent overheating, to always maintain full power and hydraulic capacity of the hedge cutter. The radiator is positioned on the left-hand side of the machine to avoid drawing in dust and debris.
